Language courses

• People who have fled Ukraine have access to integration courses.
• You can find integration language courses near you here: BAMF Navigator
• Deutsche Welle is offering free online courses for learning German.
• The website www.buchstaben.com offers an E-Book, that aims to provide basic language skills to Ukrainians.

Work

• With a residence permit according to §24 of the Residence Act, people who have fled Ukraine receive an employment permit in Germany immediately.
• For this, they must register as seeking protection.
• Even a "Fiktionsbescheinigung" (fictitious certificate) with the entry "employment permitted" secures access to the labour market.
• Self-employment and employment are permitted
• Our counsellors will be happy to accompany you on your job search and support you in finding your way around the German labour market system, in your job search, in matters of residence law, in your application, in taking up employment and beyond.
• The Federal Employment Agency is responsible for job placement and job promotion. It has launched a hotline with language mediation for refugees from Ukraine: telephone number 0911 178 7915 (Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The call is not free of charge; charges apply for a call to the German fixed network. You can find more information here.

Training

• School-based or vocational training may also be taken up
• Our counsellors will be happy to accompany you on your way to an apprenticeship.

Study

• Refugees from Ukraine with university entrance requirements are allowed to apply or enrol for degree programmes in Germany. According to a decision of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs on 20 April, students who cannot complete their secondary school education in Ukraine due to their flight can also apply to study in Germany. The same applies to students from Ukraine who were unable to complete the first year of their studies.

• Our advisors will be happy to accompany you on your way to a degree programme.

• The IU International University of Applied Science offers 100 full scholarships for refugees from Ukraine. You can apply here.

• Social benefits: As of June 1, 2022, refugees with residence status according to §24 have access to social benefits according to SGBII. To do so, they must register with the job centers.
